• What: Starcraft Tournament
• When: Monday January 25th, 2010
• Time: 6:30-9:30 pm (depending on the number of people signing up, the tournament may have to conclude the following week)
• Where: BV-461, computer lab
• How much: Free for members, $2 for non-members

Tournament Details:
The version of Brood Wars to be played is v1.16.1. It will be 1v1, will be a preliminary round after which players will be put into "winner" and "loser" brackets. Once these brackets have been set, the each bracket will be ladder style single elimination, with the final match being played between the top player from each bracket. During the preliminary round, each match will have a 30 minute limit. Also, the first 16 people to sign up will be ensured a spot, the rest will be put on a waiting list, due to tournament logistics. As well, if the tournament is not concluded by 9:30 pm, it will be continued the following week.

The members have spoken, and it seems like everyone loves to guard and attack! We at VGS^2 are happy to oblige with a winter Fight Night! Bring your arcade sticks!

This Fight Night will feature the (hopefully) newly released Tatsunoko vs. Capcom for the Wii! We will have Street Fighter IV on the PS3 with BlazBlue and Tekken 6 on rotate, along with Super Smash Bros. Brawl on rotate for the Wii. Something for everyone!

As per popular demand, VGSS will be hosting a sports gaming night! Stop by the TV lounge on Tuesday October 27th from 5 – 9 for Madden 10, NHL 10, FIFA 10, NBA 2k10, and even Super Mario Strikers for the casual gamers. It’s free for all members, $2 for non-members. Be sure to check it out

Next up, in a few weeks time, our PC gaming branch will be running a Counter Strike event. To make sure everything runs smoothly, we’ll be running an open test next week on Thursday October 29th from 12 – 5. We'll update the rooms when we have them available. Feel free to drop in if you’re interested in trying a round or two.
